The Cambridge International Primary Programme and the Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Test

The English School offers internationally recognised qualifications Cambridge International Examinations (CIE). The Cambridge Primary Checkpoint Test in Grade 5 along with the Cambridge IGCSE examinations in Grade 9 will allow The English School students an exclusive opportunity to gain further qualifications during their time at the school. The Cambridge Primary Programme is a framework designed to promote the skills and knowledge in three subjects: Mathematics, English and Science. At The English School, the course is designed to complement the Finnish curriculum and culminates in the Primary Checkpoint Tests in Grade 5 during the Spring Term.

The Cambridge International Exams, begun by the University of Cambridge in England, are one of the most popular international exams worldwide. They are one of the largest aids in identifying a student's strengths and weaknesses and can be used to support learning and development.

The Primary Programme progresses students seamlessly into middle years curricula, such as the IGCSE exams in Grade 9. Beyond that there are also many opportunities, such as the International A and AS Level courses.
