Day 1: Sunday, Travel
The day started early for us. We had to be at the airport already at 5.30 am. We did all of the normal airport things; checked our bags, went through security and got on the plane, which departed at 7.35 am. The flight took around 2 hours 45 minutes and went smoothly. We arrived in Paris at around 10 o’clock local time. From there we got our baggage and got on the bus to Quintin. At around one we stopped for lunch at a gas station that was on the way. The weather was nice and it felt like summer. We sat outside and had our lunch. We arrived in Quintin at about 5, met our families and spent the evening with them.
Day 2: Isle of Bréhat
This was the first day of our adventures in France. We met at 8:15, got on the bus and rode northwest to the Isle of Bréhat. To get to the island we had to take a boat. First we had a scenic boat tour around the island and then spent the rest of the afternoon travesing it. We stopped for a picnic at Chapel Saint Michel, a small chapel on a hilltop and then continued our sightseeing. Later in the afternoon we arrived at the village square and had 45 minutes of free time. We visited a couple of shops and made friends with a local dog before returning to the mainland. The boat journey was much shorter than on the way to the island, because the boat took the shortest route instead of the scenic one. We arrived back in Quintin at around 4:30 and spent the rest of the evening with our host families.
Day 3: School visit and Walk around Quintin.
Day 4: Biscuiterie Factory Visit
Before our exciting trip to the biscuiterie, we had a quiz about Quintin. It was challenging because some of the things asked weren’t told to us previously. The trip to the factory was amazing. We got a tour of the factory and a lot of samples. At the factory’s shop we were able to buy some treats for ourselves and to take home. In the afternoon we travelled by bus to the town of Saint-Brieuc. The weather was sunny and warm. We had time to do some shopping, which was nice and then we went to a Laser game. It took us a while to get to the Laser game, because we accidentally took the wrong bus. Luckily we made it just in time!
Day 5: Mont Saint-Michel
Today morning, we went to the Jean XVII school. We had a Kahoot about Quintin and left for Mont Saint-Michel. It was low tide there, so we could walk on the ocean floor to the island. It was a unique experience! At Mont Saint-Michel, we had some spare time to look around and shop. We then boarded the buses back to Quintin, where we parted and left for our homes. This great experience helped us to be together and to get rid of our phones and headphones. Overall, this trip was one of our favorites of the journey!
Day 6: Outdoors
Day 7: Bus Trip to Paris
Day 8: Paris
Day 9 : Paris then Home
Today we woke up and ate breakfast. We packed and threw our luggage to a storage room in our hostel. Then we headed out to the Arc de Triomphe. But before we got there we saw the Palais Royal and walked through the park Tuileries. We had a couple hours to shop and eat before we left. After our shopping we left to get our luggage and then hopped on a bus. At the airport we checked-in and got through security. Our flight left a bit late but everything went well and got back home safe.
