My roots are from Ostrobothnia but I have lived most of my life in the Turku region. I have studied education and English at the University of Turku from where I have received my Masters degrees and also later earned my PhD.
The four most important workplaces for me have been (in no particular order) the Teacher Training School of Turku University, Forest Home Avenue School in Milwaukee (English-Spanish bilingual school), Raisio High School and The English School. In the two latter mentioned I have worked as a principal.
I have two university-aged daughters with whom I get together as often as possible. We love to travel together and do it as often as time and resources permit. I enjoy being outdoors and go to our cabin as often as I can. Chopping wood, making fires, sauna and swimming there is the best way for me to relax.
I believe in life-long learning and am a living testimony of it: I enjoy studying languages and my short-term dream is to learn Spanish better. Technology is also close to my heart and I try to keep up to date on that front as much as I can.
For me the best thing in The English School is its international, friendly atmosphere, which you can sense as soon as you enter the building. Friendly staff and friendly students learning together - and building ever-lasting relationships.
